As the quilt progresses….

June 10, 2012

Okay, I’ve continued making blocks and side triangles and putting them up on the design wall. The results are pictured below. I’m liking it more and more as it progresses and grows. I was concerned that there was no interplay between the blocks because the fabrics were too busy and diverse. But as blocks and units are added to the wall, I begin to see the overall pattern and believe it may be successful. Of course it will look better when it is all sewn together. What do you think?

the background pieces make the diamonds and triangles appear to float free.
interesting effect. The blues and greens are like glass. WOW

I think the colors patterns and placemnt make for a verty interesting quilt , and quite successful. Sometimes the more the pattern the better they all blend. Definately not too busy.

I’ve always oved the extra character using prints+hand dyeds – have you been dreaming of a large multifaceted emerald, Janet Jo? 🙂

I agree with the comments so far. The light colors make the piece sparkle. And the green “diamonds” remind me of emeralds. Looks like you’ve got a “gem.”

This is a REALLY good piece! I love the movement that the hand dyes create.

This is quite beautiful and the colours are so clear like water with the sun on it. The mix is really good and the patterns make the whole thing move! BEAUTIFUL! I’m really looking forward to seeing it finished!
